Girls will be Girls

Girls will always be girls, regardless of which part of the world they come from.

Africa, Asia, America, or Europe, they will be who they are meant to be…GIRLS

What defines a girl? Is it her status, the number of shoes she has, the latest clothes, i.e, jackets, make up, or the pink purse she carries? Is it in her personality and character, or is it the physical appearance?

Depending on the culture, here in Africa a girl is a treasure for any family. When growing up, she’s a joy to the family, taught how to make a home by learning house chores from her aunties, elder sisters and mother.

Later when she’s of age and ready to go start her own home, she will bring wealth into the family through the dowry that her man brings home as a sing of appreciation to her parents for raising her up. These could range from cattle, house hold items, it could also be a car; depending on the decisions made by her family.

However, that is now changing. In this day and age, a girl is still the treasure of the family, but unlike those days, now she gets to decide what she wants to do in her life. At the age of 16, she is mature enough to make her own decisions. And because she has gone to school and been exposed to different cultures, there’s a lot she can choose from. A musician, a designer, a teacher, medical person, or a lawyer; the world is open to her.

After all this is done and said, what does our heavenly father say about this girl!

Psalms 139 talks about this girl; she’s beautiful and wonderfully made. He took extra care and attention as He formed her.

This girl is precious in His eyes and He knows her by name. He specially made her to be man’s helper. There was no perfect substation to man, but this girl.

Proverbs 31 describes her as the virtuous woman, “Clothed in strength and dignity. She laughs without fear.”

She’s the apple of His eye.
